Referrals

At Pure Mission Support, we take a careful and child-centred approach to referrals. Each placement is considered through meetings, detailed assessments, and collaborative decision-making to ensure safety, stability and positive outcomes. We gather comprehensive information on a child’s care, education, health, chronology, and risks, and, where appropriate, draw on insight from their family network. This informs a tailored transition plan, supported by clear aims and safety planning, so each child arrives feeling welcomed, understood, and prepared to thrive.

Referral Pathway

  • Referrals are accepted directly from local authorities with full information on care status, education, health, chronology and risks.

  • Information is reviewed against our Statement of Purpose and current matching considerations. Unsuitable referrals are declined promptly with reasons.

  • If a potential match is identified, we hold discussions and assessments with the placing authority. Where appropriate, the family network is consulted.

  • Placement decisions are made jointly with the placing authority, ensuring the child’s best interests and group stability. Emergency placements are not accepted.

  • A tailored plan is agreed, including clear aims, safety planning and practical arrangements. Shared with professionals and, where appropriate, with the child and family.

  • The child is welcomed through a structured induction. An early review with the placing authority ensures stability and confirms next steps.
